Tents, S'mores and Sleeping bags

So it's official: my kids love camping. We headed out this past weekend with our friends the Tibbitt's to Hurkey Creek. It was lovely weather, not too hot - not too cold. We cooked all kinds of yummy food in the dutch oven, played games, went on a 'hike' with two nearly 3 years olds, a 4 1/2 year old, and a slumbering newborn, roasted marshmallows, cooled off in a sprinkler, and enjoyed the great outdoors. We had a super time. The best part? The kids slept in till 7 am. That was big for Miss "I rise at the crack of dawn" Mia. Maybe we should pitch a tent in the backyard. . . . :)

It is always so fun to get out with the family for a couple days. Especially when they sleep in. Smile.
So fun to keep up with you guys through the blogging world.
Miss ya.

How fun! We've been dying to go but it is too hot even in the mountains here.....and there's that big belly I have (might not be too comfortable!). Your girls looked like they had a blast! Can't wait to see them in a little bit!

That looks so fun. We still have never taken the kids camping! I really need to get on that. I don't think we even have a tent big enough for an adult to sleep in. We miss you guys!

We're SO there next time. It looks so fun! And the kids are in sweatshirts.... which is reason enough for me! Those days seem so far away....

Talk about a lot of fun. It's good to know that the weather there is better than here. Did you guys get a good spot? How fun.

What a fun post....I'm finally catching up with you. It looks like you've had such a fun summer. I love the tent in the backyard idea; we actually put up Carson's tent in the living room all the time and they love sleeping in the house, in the tent. Simple pleasures! LOVE the pictures of the girls in their white dresses at the beach. You don't get much better than that!
