Del Mar, CA

I took the girls to Del Mar for a few days this past week. We had some repair work done on the ceilings of our house and it was going to be messy and inconvenient. . . so we left and headed to the 'pink house in Del Mar'! Fortunately Ryan's grandparents have a great home for us to stay in. We had a really fun day at the beach. The kids played while I read. . . it doesn't get much better than that! Ryan hadn't planned on coming, but with a little coaxing he took Friday off and we had a little mini vacation.
We took the girls to Sea World and they loved it. Mia couldn't stop chanting 'Shamu, Shamu' the whole drive home!
And that brings me to the highlight of the trip. . . the tent. We stopped by Costco to get Sea World tickets and Ryan saw this great tent. We were in the market for a new tent as we have a Ward Campout coming up (and no tent to speak of) so he picked it up. Kail thought it was so cool and asked if she could sleep in it. Ryan thought it would be fun to set it up in the house and test it out (are you serious?!). The thing is HUGE. It literally took up the entire room. Of course, Kail thought he was the coolest Dad ever for setting it up. The girls and Ryan and Rosie (and eventually me) all watched Enchanted and attempted to sleep. Ryan and the dog were successful, but the kids were not sleeping at all, so we ended up abondoning our tent about 10:30 pm and sleeping in beds!

Family Night

So I asked the girls to get their jammies on and this is what they came up with. Kail's nightgown is at least 2 years too small and Mia's, well it's a little on the skimpy side. Perhaps our FHE lesson should have been on modesty (although any of you who know Kail well, know that she is the QUEEN of letting you know what is modest and not! Funny kid). Anyways we had a lesson, yummy cupcakes that Kail made (thanks Kolette!) and ended the night with Twister. How appropriate! Ryan was the designated spinner for Twister. He is currently sporting a very nice boot due to a nasty sprained ankle. It wasn't very condusive to the game. I really should work on a picture of that. . . . .

Tutu Party

This is out of order, but I forgot to post it. . . .here is Kail with Hallie posing at my friend Lillie's tutu party.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Kail's preschool had an Easter egg hunt which included a very exciting visit from the bunny himself. Kail was very selective and only wanted the pink eggs. She quickly realized that being selective was not the best strategy. . . .unfortunately by that time the eggs were gone. Fortunately for Kail, she has some really sweet friends who were willing to share (pink eggs or not!) The last photo is one from Easter egg hunt #1 that we did with friends on Monday night (thanks Kim, I borrowed this from your blog). It's hard to believe we have 2 more on the calendar before Sunday! (WAY too much candy!)

Movie Day

There is not a single more thrilling activity to my girls than going to the movies. They love the popcorn, candy and lemonade. We took them this weekend to see the new Dr. Seuss movie. Really cute. After we left we found this movie advertisement with a cutout for the bride.

It was funniest when Ryan did it, yet somehow I didn't manage to get a picture of him. Go figure.

AZ Trip!

It's been AWHILE. . . . so here's what we've been up to. I spent 9 days in AZ the last week in February with Ryan for a few days and the girls and doggy for the rest of the time. It was lots o' fun. Here are some pics of the girls with their cousins Ella and Bennett. Brooke and I had fun with the kids at the mall and at the park!
