Our 10th Anniversary trip to HAWAII!

We just got back from Kauai where we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We had such a great time! We dropped the girls off in AZ to visit their grandparents (thank you again Grandma Rogers and Grandma Smith) and then flew out of Phoenix. On our way to Kauai we had an 8 hour layover in Oahu and were able to visit the temple there and check out some sights. Probably the coolest thing we did once we got to Kauai was a helicopter ride around the island. LOVED IT. The island is so gorgeous and we got to see amazing waterfalls, canyons and beaches. It was a great time. Highlights of the trip included:
*Lots of Pina Coladas (virgin of course)
*Driving to Waimea Canyon in our super cute convertible
*Eating lots of mahi mahi, shrimp, crab, and other delicious seafood creations
*Sleeping in
*Renting cabanas by the beach and reading ALL day (twice)
*Chocolate & coconut covered macadamia nuts
*Snorkling at Poipu Bay
*Visiting Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona
*Sunset at the Beach House restaurant
*Jogging by the beach (ok. . . so the jogging not a total highlight but we had to do something to counteract all this yummy food)
*Shopping for hula girl dolls and coconut purses for the kiddos
*Not having to make the bed

So these are really the only pictures we took besides some blurry ones of waterfalls from the helicopter. We were so busy relaxing that we didn't have 'time' to take more pictures I guess! Pure bliss.

Trick or Treating at Disneyland!

So we went to Disneyland (again!) with our friends Kyle and Tabitha and their daughter Hallie. The kids wore their costumes (matching princesses of course - or as Kail likes to say, 'sister princesses') and trick or treated at California Adventure. We ate lots of candy, rode fun rides and stayed out way too late. . . . fun times!

Off to Church

Here are the girls before church a couple of weeks ago. I am never good at remembering to take a pic as we are rushing out the door, but Kail was proud of her new dress so we took a minute to capture it. (Sorry it's a little fuzzy. The settings on the camera have been a little off. Thanks to Ryan I think we're back to clear photos!)

Last week Mia had several doctor's appointments in LA so we spent the morning at the hospital and the afternoon/evening at DISNEYLAND! Reagan flew over to spend the day with us and Kail couldn't get enough of him. The girls' favorite rides continue to be It's a Small World, the Carousel, and the Tea Cups. Kail also went on Thunder Mountain Railroad twice! The first time she seemingly enjoyed it, but the second time she had both hands covering her eyes the ENTIRE time. I couldn't stop laughing! Mia is sporting her new favorite hat. She had some birthday money that she needed to spend (thanks to G & G Tanner and G & G Maynard) and this is what she picked. Kail, of course, couldn't leave empty handed and opted for the very fancy Minnie ears. Nice weather, no lines . . . . . a good time was had by all.

Ready or Not?!

Mia has always liked underwear. . . but today she decided she wanted to 'earn' her right to wear them! She woke up today and signed potty and went. . . all day. . . on the potty! It HAD to be on the big potty, just like her big sister! I was definitely not ready, but apparantly she was! I guess there's no turning back now. (These pictures are a few months old, she has moved on from the black shoe/ruffle socks obsession. Now it's my high heels!)

I wasn't kidding. . . . .

Mia STILL had to celebrate with our little family, so here's some pictures from her 'real' birthday!

Princess Party #2

Here's Mia's Princess Party! Mia invited 8 of her closest friends to celebrate. She liked the dancing and twirling a lot more than eating cupcakes and being sung to. Lots of fun!

Trip to AZ

We headed to AZ for the weekend to welcome Ryan's brother Reagan home from his mission. While we were there we celebrated Mia's 2nd birthday with both sides of our family. We all had a great time and fortunately for Mia, this was just the beginning of her birthday celebrations. . . . .gotta love being two!
